• It takes 10 lbs. of milk - 20 8 oz. glasses or 5 qts. - to produce 1 lb. of cheese.

• 1 oz. of cheese provides 75% of the calcium and protein, 100% of the Vitamin A and 65% of the phosphorus found in a 8 oz. glass of whole milk.

• A 2 oz. serving of cheddar provides approximately the same amount of protein as 2 oz. of cooked, lean meat.
